Before I ever held a passport, I had already traveled the world through books.
I grew up with a deeply practical, fiercely independent grandmother who raised me while building her own business from the ground up. She didn’t have much time off—but she always made time for stories. She’d read to me at night, making up magical tales that carried me far beyond the four walls of our home. That’s how I first learned to wander—through words.
As a kid, I was shy to the point of invisibility. Social situations made my stomach knot, and I didn’t know how to be loud or cool or the center of attention. What I did know was how to disappear into a book and become someone else—someone braver, bolder, and endlessly curious. I clung to those stories like lifelines.
In high school, I was the girl who pretended to study in the library just to avoid lunch. The one who used fiction to escape the sting of being overlooked, talked over, or misunderstood.
But even then, something in me ached to see the places I’d only read about.
What Does Travel for Introverts Really Look Like?
I used to think you had to be adventurous to travel. That you had to love crowds, feel at home in hostels, or bounce from city to city with zero fear. That wasn’t me—not even close.
My first solo trip happened after a period of deep loss. My grandmother had passed, and I was spinning—grief-stricken, overeducated (three degrees and still unsure who I was), and completely unmoored. I didn’t take a trip because I felt brave—I took it because I didn’t know what else to do.
I landed in Lisbon with a carry-on, a journal, and no real plan. And somehow, in the quiet spaces—the tiny cafés, the echo of church bells, the slow walks through winding streets—I started to find myself again.
Then one morning, I sat in a sun-drenched café tucked behind a flower shop, sipping espresso and writing without urgency. For the first time, I wasn’t performing for anyone. There wasn’t pressure to rush through my day or prove anything.
I was just there. And it felt like enough.
That’s when I realized: travel for introverts isn’t about escaping your life—it’s about returning to who you are.

What I’ve Learned About Soul-Aligned Travel:
- You don’t need to be outgoing to crave adventure.
- You don’t have to be fearless to book the flight.
- You don’t need a perfect plan—you need a soul-aligned one.
- And you don’t have to figure it out alone.
I created Lumina Travel Co. because I wanted to offer more than cookie-cutter vacations. I wanted to create something for people like us—the readers, the dreamers, the quiet souls who long for more than just pretty views.
Travel gave me a way back to myself. Now, I help others find that same reconnection—whether they’re navigating grief, burnout, or simply longing to feel alive again.
Because I’ve stood exactly where you’re standing. I am you.
And I know how powerful it is when travel doesn’t feel like an escape—but a return to yourself.
If you’ve ever felt invisible, I see you.
Maybe it’s been years of whispering “someday.” Maybe the idea of solo travel has always felt just a little too far out of reach—reserved for someone bolder, louder, more adventurous.
But here’s the quiet truth: that story you’ve been telling yourself? It’s ready for a rewrite.
There’s no need to be fearless to begin. A single, wholehearted yes is enough.
Travel doesn’t require permission. But if it helps—consider this your invitation. 💌
Bravery isn’t a prerequisite. Just a willingness to begin.
And when that moment comes—your seat is waiting.
