Wander through Edinburgh’s literary past, stand at the stones of Outlander’s Craigh na Dun, and ride the real Hogwarts Express—all in the company of thoughtful women and good stories.
Every great story begins with a decision. Today, you close your laptop, silence your notifications, and take that brave, quiet step toward something new. Pack your journal, your coziest scarf, and a paperback for the plane—you’re en route to the land of ancient castles, stormy moors, and stories whispered through stone.
Your journey begins with an overnight flight to Edinburgh, Scotland. The next chapter? Starts the moment your boots touch Scottish soil.
Note: Flights are not included. Travelers should book flights to arrive in Edinburgh by the morning of Saturday, April 19, 2026.
The journey begins with quiet anticipation. As you arrive in Edinburgh, you’ll be met with a private transfer to your hotel, where soft light spills through Georgian windows and cobblestone streets whisper the tales of centuries. There’s no rush here—just time to settle in, drop your bags, and meet the other women writing this chapter beside you. That evening, we’ll gather for a guided literary walk through the heart of Edinburgh, visiting the Old Town, Greyfriars Kirkyard, and places that inspired Harry Potter and Outlander.
Includes: Welcome dinner, walking tour, Edinburgh Castle entry
Today is a love letter to Outlander. We explore Culross (aka Cranesmuir), pass Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, and visit Doune Castle (Castle Leoch). Then it's on to Linlithgow Palace (Wentworth Prison) and Blackness Castle (Fort William). Expect a visual feast of historic stone and sea. We end in colorful Queensferry before returning to Edinburgh for an evening on your own.
Includes: Private coach, guide, castle admissions
Meals: Breakfast included; lunch and dinner on your own
We journey through the Highlands toward Inverness, with rolling hills and castle spires keeping watch. After lunch on the road, we arrive for a guided walking tour of the city—River Ness, Inverness Castle, the Cathedral, and the Kiltmaker Visitor Centre, where tartan traditions come to life.
Includes: Private coach, guide, Kiltmaker admission
Meals: Breakfast included; lunch and dinner on your own
We begin at the Culloden Battlefield, standing where the Jacobite rising met its final breath. From there, it's on to Clava Cairns—stone circles said to inspire Craigh na Dun. Pause. Breathe. This is a sacred place. We travel onward to Fort William for an evening at your leisure.
Includes: Battlefield admission, Clava Cairns, private coach
Meals: Breakfast included; lunch and dinner on your own
A day for your inner child. We board the Jacobite Steam Train—aka the real Hogwarts Express—for a roundtrip ride through cinematic Highlands. Cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct (yes, that one) and arrive in the port town of Mallaig for a bit of exploring and seaside lunch.
Includes: Jacobite Steam Train ticket (standard class)
Meals: Breakfast included; lunch and dinner on your own
On our return to Edinburgh, we pause in Glasgow for free time at the University—a gothic revival gem that feels like walking through a forgotten fantasy. We arrive back in the city with time to rest before our final dinner together. Candlelight, conversation, and the beauty of a story well told.
Includes: Glasgow visit, farewell dinner, hotel porterage
Meals: Breakfast and dinner included; lunch on your own
You’ll be transferred to Edinburgh Airport for your journey home, heart full and journal nearly overflowing. This chapter ends, but the story? It stays with you.
Includes: Breakfast, private transfer
Dear traveler,
If you’re here—reading all the way to the end—then I know something about you already.
You don’t just visit places.
You feel them.
You seek stories, not just sights.
And you’re not afraid to choose depth over dazzle.
This Scotland journey was created for women exactly like you—thoughtful, quietly bold, book-loving souls who crave beauty with meaning and magic with roots. Whether you’ve always wanted to see the Highlands or you’re simply ready for a chapter that feels different, slower, and more you… I hope you know you belong here.
I designed this tour the way I’d design a novel: with care, with feeling, and with space between the lines for your own story to unfold. It’s not about checking boxes. It’s about showing up—with curiosity, with softness, with a suitcase full of dreams.
So if your heart’s been whispering maybe, I hope this is the sign you needed.
Your next chapter is calling.
And it’s got Scottish moors, cobblestone streets, train whistles, and main character energy written all over it.
With warmth and wonder,
Founder, Lumina Travel Co.
Kate Ciullo
welcome
founder of Lumina Travel Co., lifelong lover of stories, and your guide for this journey through the misty magic of Scotland.
I created Lumina for women like me: thoughtful, introverted, and wildly curious. I was the kid who read under the covers by flashlight, the college student who found home in bookstores abroad, and the adult who realized that travel could feel as comforting and transformative as a really good novel.
This trip isn’t about rushing. It’s not about crowded tours or trendy checklists. It’s about stepping into a place slowly, with intention, and letting it shift something in you. It’s about connection—to the land, to the stories, to yourself, and to a group of kind-hearted women who get it.
As your host, I’ll be there to greet you when you arrive, guide you through the narrative of each day, and hold space for quiet reflection, spontaneous joy, and all the little in-between moments that make travel meaningful.
You don’t need to be an extrovert.
You don’t need to know anyone else coming.
You just need to show up—with an open heart, and maybe a good scarf.
Let’s write something unforgettable together.
Planning a trip can feel overwhelming—we get it. That’s why when you travel with Lumina, you’re never left to figure it all out alone.
Once you’ve reserved your spot on the Scotland Literary Tour, you’ll receive a gentle flow of emails and updates from me (Kate!) to help you prepare for the journey ahead—without stress, confusion, or last-minute scrambling.
This isn’t just a tour. It’s a story. And you’ll be supported every step of the way.
You don’t have to have it all together. That’s my job.
Travel prep doesn’t have to feel like a checklist—it can feel like a countdown to something beautiful. From the moment you book, you’ll feel gently supported, deeply seen, and so very ready.
